Aims and Objectives

The Bristol URBAN Programme is a European Commission funded for economic regeneration projects in St Pauls and adjacent areas of Bristol (St Werburghs, St Agnes, Old Market, Barton Hill and parts of Easton). Project ideas and development are to come from the local community. Its aim is to create jobs, wealth and opportunities for local people through new and innovative actions.

The strategic objectives of the programme are-:

i.   Creating new business and employment opportunities, offering goods and services locally and throughout the city, thus drawing wealth and investment into the area

ii.   Involving the community and local organizations in developing capacity to address local issues and problems

iii.   Developing employment and training initiatives linked to improved local services that will support residents during this regeneration process and beyond.
